In August of 2017, Georgia Power selected Bechtel to complete construction of the two-reactor expansion of a nuclear power plant near Augusta, Georgia. Plant Vogtle Units 3 & 4 will be the first new units built in the U.S. in the last three decades and are currently the only new units being constructed in the country.

At the peak of construction, this vital project will employ up to 5,000 on site. These positions will include building tradespeople, engineers, field supervisors, construction and project managers, quality assurance professionals, safety professionals, procurement, subcontract specialists and many others.

This position may be required to work a schedule of rotating shifts including nights, weekends, or holidays. All employees are subject to and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of continued employment for the duration of their assignment. The ability to obtain/maintain access to the facility is required.

Role Overview:

The Pressure Test Field Coordinator is responsible for: Hydrostatic and pneumatic testing of piping systems meeting ASME III and ASME B31.1 requirements. Implementing pressure tests and flushing activities in accordance with site-specific policies and procedures. Overseeing and monitoring set-up, performance and restoration of tests in accordance with site-specific requirements. Coordinates with Construction, Quality Control, Authorized Nuclear Inspection Agency and Startup in the performance of the work.


  • Maintain required safety, quality and security training requirements and records.

  • Preparation of test packages including marking up isometric and P&ID drawings to accurately show test boundaries.

  • Assist the pressure test field engineer to determine location of test plugs, blinds and caps in preparation of tests.

  • Assist the pressure test field engineer to identify Relief Valves requiring blinds/gags and supports requiring pinning.

  • Assist the pressure test field engineer to identify requirement for temporary supports.

  • Assist the pressure test field engineer to identify any components requiring removal prior to pressure testing.

  • Be familiar with Foreign Material Exclusion (FME) requirements and ensure they are maintained.

  • Assist the pressure test field engineer in calculating the required test pressure based on existing conditions.

  • Assist in the Walk down of piping systems to validate readiness for testing.

  • Assist the pressure test field engineer in working with Superintendent to determine location of pressure test manifold setup.

  • Assist with preparation and closure of test execution work packages.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or construction or in lieu of a formal degree 5 years of related experience as a pressure testing and completions coordinator and/or adminsitrative vendor documentation role.

  • Possess right to work in the US without sponsorship

  • Must be physically capable of conducting work including the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, walking on elevated platforms, walking on uneven surfaces, climbing in very small and/or confined spaces and lifting up to 60 lbs.

  • Must be able to pass nuclear security screening requirements and be able to obtain and maintain unescorted access to a nuclear power facility.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Previous coordinator experience with pressuring testing

  • Experience in preparation and presentation of written reports.
