In August of 2017, Georgia Power selected Bechtel to complete construction of the two-reactor expansion of a nuclear power plant near Augusta, Georgia. Plant Vogtle Units 3 & 4 will be the first new units built in the U.S. in the last three decades and are currently the only new units being constructed in the country.

At the peak of construction, this vital project will employ up to 5,000 on site. These positions will include building tradespeople, engineers, field supervisors, construction and project managers, quality assurance professionals, safety professionals, procurement, subcontract specialists and many others.

This position may be required to work a schedule of rotating shifts including nights, weekends, or holidays. All employees are subject to and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of continued employment for the duration of their assignment. The ability to obtain/maintain access to the facility is required.

Role Overview

Plant Vogtle Units 3 & 4 is looking for a Construction Information Manager. This position will report to the Construction Director. Construction Information Manager will be responsible for establishing and managing the project construction automation program and the program’s interface with the project’s Engineer of Record and the client through the project lifecycle. including automated work processes and application implementation, support, training, integration, and maintenance.

Principle responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Establish the project construction automation program including automated work processes and application implementation, support, training, integration, and maintenance for TEAMWorks, WITS, SETROUTE, and Unifier, including coordinating with other functional software (i.e. eTrack, Ecosys, Chekov, Q4 Safety, and Jovix)

  • Accountable for construction related information and data flow between all project interfaces

  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure project information and automation plans comply with the prime contract and Bechtel Standard Application Program (BSAP) standards

  • Provide innovative solutions for successful project completion for the client

  • Establish and implement application training program for TEAMWorks, WITS, and other Construction applications

  • Assist in coordination and presentation to the project management team and the client when required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Related Bachelors degree and at least 9 years of related professional progressive experience. In lieu of formal degree, at least 15 years' related professional progressive experience.

  • Must possess legal right to work in US without sponsorship.

  • Must be physically capable of conducting work including the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, walking on elevated platforms, walking on uneven surfaces, climbing in very small and/or confined spaces and lifting up to 60 lbs.

  • Must be able to pass nuclear security screening requirements and be able to obtain and maintain unescorted access to a nuclear power facility.

Minimum Requirements:

  • All applicants must have a good working knowledge of Construction BSAPs (TEAMworks, SETROUTE, etc.) and how they are used by Construction

  • Basic knowledge of hardware and operating systems, including system architecture, network infrastructures and client-server principles

  • Basic knowledge of how to troubleshoot and support software applications

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Critical thinking: ability to track down complex data and engineering issues, evaluate different algorithmic approaches, and analyze data to solve problems

  • Creativity: you can conceive of new data driven products, features, and technologies

  • Results: you prioritize, focusing on ideas and features that will have significant, measurable impact

  • Planning & estimation: ability to set and meet your own project objectives & milestones

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Bechtel Construction Standard Work Process and Procedures (SWPPs)

  • 5+ years experience on Bechtel projects utilizing Construction BSAPs
