We're hiring a Calf and Heifer Sales Specialist in the Southern Georgia/Florida territory!
Your responsibilities include:
Focus on the dairy calf & heifer segment in Southern Georgia/Northern Florida to develop/implement strategies to achieve annual market share growth
Responsible for management and growth of the calf and heifer business segment and the sales of related Purina Animal Nutrition value added products which will include responsibilities for technical support in the designated area about 35% of the time and 65% of their time will be spent on farms selling/servicing new prospective dairies as well as current clients.
Organize, conduct and manage feeding demos and trials; collect proof of performance
Participate in calf and heifer producer meetings and assist in developing/implementing sales and marketing growth programs
Partner with other sales professionals in the territory to provide on-farm troubleshooting & problem solving, technical support, and training
Build relationships with C&H influencers, Veterinarians, attend industry events and activities
Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related field
Prefer 2-5 years of experience working with calf and heifer operations, ideally in both a sales and technical consultant capacity
Ability to travel within geographic area; could include up to 4-8 nights/month overnight travel
Calf and heifer management and nutrition knowledge a must
Ability to interact and problem solve calf related issues on dairy farms
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, focus, along with strong organization and time management skills
Success in this position requires cold calling, high internal drive, a natural ability for relationship building, selling individually as well as within a team environment.
Ability to facilitate producer and sales people training
Computer skills, including MS Office, (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) are necessary for success.
The position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
An advanced degree in production dairy will also provide the successful candidate an advantage.
Proven track record of growing and maintaining a customer base of dairy herds.
Experience as a dairy calf herd manager or related position is favored also.
Proficiency in speaking Spanish fluently.
