As part of the Global Cellulose Fibers business with International Paper, the Port Wentworth mill produces pulp for paper and absorbent products. The Mechanical Maintenance Manager is a key role in our maintenance organization. This position is responsible for application of precision maintenance, workflow, reliability, maintenance efficiency and cost effectiveness of our repair activities. Area maintenance supervisors and planners report to this position and the MeMM will work with and coach this team to deliver exceptional results. Each year we target to deliver 3% YOY reduction in maintenance cost as well as 15% YOY reduction in unscheduled downtime. Maintenance supervisors and planners are also a part of the process area manufacturing work system (MWS) teams and the MeMM will monitor the effectiveness of their reports as they function in these MWS teams. The MeMM will partner with the E/I Area Maintenance manager to best enable resource sharing and joint work in support of our high performance work system model. Additional components in this role will include:
Accountable for leading safety indicators toward YOY injury free performance.
Ensure area supports environmental equipment health to prevent environmental permit violations.
Support team training, personal development and performance management.
Ensures systems are in play to deliver precision maintenance, tracking and reduction in repeat work.
Manage 6-year plan and input into capital plan.
Works with the Business Unit Manager, Maintenance Manager and Lead team to establish the Maintenance budget for the areas.
Ensures planning quality and approves orders.
Ensures MWS Metrics are reviewed and communicated.
Audits area MWS effectiveness.
Key member of outage critique process.
Monitor and manage progress toward annual shut planning and preparation.
Technical guidance for mechanical skills, issues and troubleshooting.
Partnering with Reliability team for RCFA.
BS in Mechanical, Civil, Paper Science Engineering or related fields - Equivalent experience will be considered.
10+ years Maintenance/Engineering experience
5+ years supervisory and/or management
