Georgia Employer CONSTRUCTION LABORER in Kings Bay, Georgia

Job sites cover the Georgia I-95 corridor. This position performs any combination of following duties on road construction projects, usually working in utility capacity, by transferring from one task to another where demands require worker with varied experience and ability to work without close supervision: May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, erect and breakdown scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris and remove waste materials. May work as an Asphalt Plant Operator or Road Crew Worker. May assist other craft workers, including carpenters, plasterers, operating engineers and masons. Operate hand and power tools. Lubricate, clean and repair machinery, equipment and tools. Load, unload, identify and distribute building materials to the appropriate location according to project plans and specifications. Clean and prepare construction sites to remove possible hazards. Dig trenches and assist in the following: install sewer, water, storm drain pipes and place concrete and asphalt on roads. Signals operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications. Levels earth to fine grade specifications, using pick and shovel. May build forms for pouring concrete. Smooths and finishes freshly poured cement, concrete, or asphalt using float, trowel, or screed. May position, join, align, and seal pipe sections. Erects scaffolding, shoring, and braces. Mops, brushes, or spreads paints or bituminous compounds over surfaces for protection. Sprays materials such as water, sand, steam, vinyl, paint, or stucco through hose to clean, coat, or seal surfaces. Performs variety of tasks involving dexterous use of hands and tools. Control traffic passing near, in or around work zones. May: operate weed eater; sow grass seed; use hand mower or power-driven lawnmower; picks up and remove away paper and rubbish. Applicant must be a minimum of 18 years of age. Employer is willing to train. Transportation to work sites from designated locations available. This position is: considered to be Permanent, Full-Time; 40 hours per week. Days worked: Normal work schedule is Monday thru Friday, with some Saturday work possible. Rate of pay is based on experience. Employer will conduct pre-employment drug screen and background check.
