All potential applicants will be required to receive a criminal background check and drug test** The Fire Alarm Inspector Assistant is tasked with meeting and exceeding customer needs and requirements, assisting the Fire Alarm Inspector with inspecting buildings to locate hazardous conditions and fire code violations, and producing quality installation and service on schedule and within estimated hours. The Fire Alarm Inspector Assistant is also tasked with establishing and maintaining good working relationships between co-workers, customers, and suppliers. REQUIREMENTS Education: Required: High School Diploma or GED Preferred: Post-Secondary Education Preferred: Verifiable Certifications OSHA 10 Certified Nicet Level 1 Certified Experience: Required: 1 to 2 years relevant construction related experience. Preferred: 1 to 2 years relevant construction related helper experience or inspection assistant experience of fire alarm systems. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Relevant and current industry and technical knowledge concerning products, materials and equipment Basic knowledge of AD/DC circuitry, associated with low voltage systems. Troubleshooting: assist with determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it; repairing equipment or systems using the needed tools. Time Management: managing one�s own time and the time of others. Reading Comprehension: understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. Self-starter and team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences and the ability to convey information clearly and concisely through spoken words and sentences. Ability to read, write, and understand information and ideas. WORKING CONDITIONS Must be able to work under the elements of a construction site. Must be able to stand for long periods of time (up to ten hours); able to lift and carry a twelve- foot ladder and able to perform work from a ladder; able to operate a power jack and fork lift and able to lift up to 70 pounds manually. MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE The Fire Alarm Inspector Assistant will be deemed to be performing in a satisfactory manner when the following occurs. Ensure all equipment on site is properly tested and inspected in accordance with appropriate laws, codes, ordinances, regulations, and standards. Ensure all work and materials meet quality standards in accordance with Company policy, procedures and requirements and in accordance with industry standards.
