The patent agent or attorney will have a background in molecular biology or the vaccine research field and will work to optimize BIAH's patent portfolio worldwide, especially involving vaccines and molecular biology inventions, and including both prosecution activities and litigation support.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Identifying inventions; drafting patent applications thereto; and prosecuting the applications before global patent offices, including instructing numerous local patent attorneys to prepare required responses
Under the supervision of the Global Head of Patent Prosecution and Patent Litigation, this person will help advise employees on questions related to patentability, infringement, and freedom to operate involving third parties’ intellectual property rights.
Will support patent litigation activities including, among others, opposition practice; Inter-Partes Review; and infringement proceedings.
Evaluate third party patents to prepare validity opinion and Freedom-to-Operate Opinions
Participate in IP due diligence activities for in-licensing or acquisition projects.
Ph.D in biological sciences, including molecular biology, parasitology or vaccinology from an accredited institution or equivalent (Master's degree from an accredited institution with ten (10) years of experience); should be admitted to practice before the US Patent Office either as a registered patent agent or as a patent attorney if the person holds a law degree from an accredited law school
Ability to work as part of a multi-functional project team
Expertise in vaccine development and production
Ability to write well as evidenced by past patent applications
Ability to manage high work loads
Ability to solve complex patent law questions.
Prefer a minimum of three (3) years of practice in a patent field
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction
Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
Must be 18 years of age or older
