University Health Care System Systems Support - LIS in Augusta, Georgia


Supports the daily operation of the Laboratory Information System (LIS) hardware. Instructs, and documents operating procedures for the LIS operators. Advises and assists users with their utilization of the various hardware used. Provides software development and maintenance support for the department. Provides supplemental operational support when needed.


EducationBachelor degree in Medical Technology or related area.


ExperienceThree (3) years of experience in computer operations to include strong working knowledge with spreadsheet, word processing and Dbase programs required. Experience with Sunquest and CoPath or other lab system administration preferred. Experience with lab cpt codes, Charge Master changes, lab orders and resulting highly desired. Experience with EPIC systems desired.

Knowledge, skills, abilitiesSubstantial interpersonal and oral/written communication skills required to interact with hospital staff, physicians and patients to perform duties as listed in functions above.

Physical Demands

Ability to sit, walk, and move throughout the department and hospital campus. Ability to reach with hands and arms. Ability to perform repetitive motions such as typing or keyboarding. Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel. Normal 20/20 vision required with or without corrective lenses. Ability to talk, hear and understand both in person and on the phone. Must be able to operate a hospital vehicle. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
