Material Handler - Warehouse -1st/2nd shift
The Material Handler is responsible for handling, moving, loading,and unloading materials by hand or by using a variety of material handlingequipment.
Locates and delivers materialaccording to the Standard Operating Procedure following the material handling plan.
Responsible for moving materialsfrom Warehouse/Dock/Trailers to designated locations as required.
Unload and load common carrier andvendor vehicles as required.
Verify part number and piece countof material being loaded and unloaded.
Deliver material to using departmentand warehousing as required.
Restock parts in a safe manner asrequired.
Responsible for the proper handlingand condition of product being moved to insure product is moved in a safemanner and delivered without damage.
Responsibilities include the safetyof fellow employees who may be in the path or area, during and at the time ofdelivery.
Maintain equipment on a daily basisin good operating condition (daily operator maintenance).
Assists in training newly assignedpersonnel in Equipment Operator Training.
Performs 5S duties as required.
Assists supervision in maintainingproper inventory control using E-Z-GO cycle count process.
Performs material handling dutiesas required.
Expedites materials from otherdepartments to user department.
Performs all other assigned dutiesas instructed by supervision.
To perform this job successfully,an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Ability to read and comprehendsimple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simplecorrespondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one andsmall group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of theorganization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply,and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, anddecimals.
Ability to apply commonsenseunderstanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagramform. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables instandardized situations.
Must be able to utilize scales inproper weight/count procedures when required.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
GA State Class 5 Vehicle license or equivalent
