About This Opportunity

The QA Team Lead oversees the testing activity and is responsible for leading a team of test professionals and coordinating all phases of testing across multiple platforms and software versions. The role includes assuring that timelines are met and that issues are properly escalated. This includes providing feedback on artifacts developed during requirements and analysis phase within projects; preparing test plans and test cases; and performing / leading test execution for both project and support related activities. The ideal candidate must possess strong problem solving and communication skills in addition to having a customer-focused mindset and an understanding of the importance of accountability and attention to detail. This position shall focus primarily on testing of Fulfillment applications, both Digital and Physical, using a Java technology stack, but experience testing on a JBoss, Tomcat, Mule, as well as web application technology stacks is also desirable.

InComm’s Fulfillment Delivery organization focuses on providing InComm Partner’s with turnkey solutions to delivery both Physical and Digital to their end customers. Leveraging its’ own cross-functional team of Business Analysts, Project Management, Architects, Development, Quality Assurance and Support resources, the Fulfillment Delivery team works with our business partners to continually enhance and customize the platform offerings. Using strong Agile methodologies and Continuous Integration/Delivery processes, the team focuses on value add activities, as well as improvements in tools and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead QA initiatives includingleading a team of test professionalsand contributing to the testing effort in a hands-on role

  • Work closely with cross-functional organizations, project teams and clients to develop project schedules, execute test plans and cases and deliver high quality products

  • Support analysts and engineers by ensuring that test scripts are well documented and that all requirements are met

  • Ensure that test team follow standardized testing processes and reporting procedures

  • Respond to scope changes from business stakeholders

  • Review product/project requirement documents for completeness

  • Coordinates activities with Project Manager and Core project team

  • Escalate concerns, issues and risks to the appropriate stakeholders in order to meet project deadlines

  • Lead efforts toautomate testingwhere possible

  • Basic programming skillsto create automated test scripts

  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude

  • Work closely with the QA Manager to evaluate and enhance QA standards, technologies and approaches

  • Assist in creating the QA project documentation (e.g. templates for requirements traceability, test plans, cycles, cases, scripts and standardized reports, such as a root-cause bug report and a test execution progress report), and training

  • Use functional specifications to plan, create, or sign-off on test plans, test cases, and automated test cases.

  • Defines and tracks quality assurance metricssuch as defects, defect counts, test results and test status.

  • Participate in training and mentoring other members of the QA staff

  • Act as a strong advocate for quality in the product/project development process for software

  • Implement ongoing quality improvement processes and toolsworking with interdepartmental teams

  • Must have strong relationship building skills and able to establish and maintain positive work relationships with peers, management, key stakeholders and clients

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, with an ability to present complex concepts and make them understood at all levels of the organization, both to technical and non-technical team members and stakeholders, etc.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7 years QA testing experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in CIS or MIS or equivalent experience

  • Knowledge of database technologies

  • Strong knowledge of QA tools including automation and load testing

  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle

  • Experience in navigating across cross-functional teams

  • Strong verbal and written communications are critical.
