Description We currently have an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and experienced mechanical engineer to join us our National Building Mechanical Group. The successful candidate should have an interest and familiarity with mechanical engineering as it pertains to municipal and industrial plant design (HVAC, process equipment, plumbing, piping, and controls) for the water industry (wastewater, potable water, and surface water). You will work with strong, nationally recognized, senior technical staff on various environmental-related projects and to mentor top talent. Job Expectations: The successful candidate will support projects locally, regionally, and nationally and will have strong verbal and written communication skills, be highly organized and responsive, capable of working in a diverse team environment, and able to handle multiple tasks with competing priorities. Responsibilities may include: Perform engineering work and design with building mechanical design for all of BC's wide array of technical sectors. Work on engineering designs preparing reports, construction plans, specifications, calculations, equipment selection, and cost estimates for various projects Check performance or conformity with plans and specifications through field inspection and testing Assist with the preparation of technical memoranda, reports and electronic deliverables Assist with studies, permitting and alternative analysis Duties may also include field activities such as site investigations Data collection, manipulation, analysis, and documentation Desired Skills and Experience: B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering required P.E. license required 10+ years of experience in municipal engineering and consulting preferred Experience in HVAC and plumbing piping required Valid driver's license and good driving record may be required Experience using engineering calculation software (MathCAD, MATLAB, Excel) preferred Experience using general office software for communications (MS Word and MS Outlook).
