The incumbent will assist the Director and the Deputy Director for Operations of the OSSAM in providing leadership in the development and implementation of policies and programs in support of research and communications and in serving as a liaison as needed for the management and coordination of OSSAM activities between campus tenants and the OSSAM service office.

Responsibilities

As an Operations Officer you will:

  • Serve as the OSSAM liaison to senior managers within CDC Centers, Institutes and Officer (CIOs).
  • Work with CIO management to identify required OSSAM services, ensuring coordination and completion of needed services in order to optimize customer satisfaction and assist in the accomplishments of the CIO mission.
  • Provide facilities technical and business expertise, guidance and assistance.
  • Communicate with senior leadership to provide updated status reports and to resolve problems.
  • Conduct analysis related to customer satisfaction, service delivery and performance standards.
  • Provide authoritative technical decisions, advice and consultation to staff and contractors on variables and unknowns affecting operations, planning and coordination including critical problems.

Qualifications

Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level of in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph.

Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include providing facilities technical and business expertise, guidance and assistance to officials; serving as senior level liaison for service related issues (property maintenance, safety, security, logistics, sustainability, wellness and operations management) and assessing and identifying ways to enhance and improve service delivery and developing implementation plans.

Documenting experience: In accordance with Office of Personnel Management policy, federal employees are assumed to have gained experience by performing duties and responsibilities appropriate for their official series and grade level as described in their position description. Experience that would not normally be part of the employee's position is creditable, however, when documented by satisfactory evidence, such as a signed memorandum from the employee's supervisor or an SF-50 or SF-52 documenting an official detail or other official assignment. The documentation must indicate whether the duties were performed full time or, if part time, the percentage of times the other duties were performed. It is expected that this documentation is included in the employee's official personnel record. In order to receive credit for experience in your resume that is not within the official series and grade level of your official position, you must provide a copy of the appropriate documentation of such experience as indicated above.
