The role

of a Procurement Business Partner is to be a change agent by using consultative

skills to provide professional procurement advice to senior leaders on their

business objectives, challenges and strategy. A Procurement Business Partner's

essence is helping the business be better at what they do, deliver

opportunities and creating value for all parties. The purpose of this role

is to partner with the Commercial & Technology (C&T) organization's

senior leadership team to focus on commercial & technology strategy,

leading change and efficiency projects, playing an advisory role to executives

and their teams, and being the primary representative for the

Procurement organization.


  • To provide appropriate andcredible senior level commercial challenge and guidance up to andincluding EVP, SVP and VP levels to drive sustainable improvement inprocurement and cost efficiency

  • Responsible for providingexternal insight and innovation to senior stakeholders.

  • Responsible for supportingstrategic functional corporate programs to deliver margin benefit andoperating efficiency.

  • To communicate to both internaland external stakeholders to understand and clarify procurement needs sothat expectations can be met and exceeded.

  • Partner with procurementcategory management teams to embed strategic initiatives across thebusiness & ensure procurement processes are understood and leveraged

  • Partner with the business todrive cost consciousness & improvement




Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, or a relevant field of

work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.


10 years’

experience in Technology, IT, Procurement, Consulting, and/or Supply

Chain Management in a global company (hospitality / brand / franchise

environment a plus)

Technical Knowledge and Experience

  • Influence & negotiationskills to collaborate with key stakeholders, internally and externally, todrive results

  • Ability to lead commercial andstrategic discussions

  • Mix of business understandingand expertise in procurement techniques and best practice

  • Experience in procurementbusiness partnering in a global organization

  • Ability to navigate, influenceand manage change in a matrix organization

  • Deep strategic understanding ofglobal business and hospitality industry dynamics; effective atidentifying broader business trends and creating timely response withinIHG

  • Experience leadingcross-functional teams and engaging with senior leadership across a matrixorganization

  • Understanding of indirectprocurement

  • Commercial skills to facilitatedecision making and advice

  • Negotiation skills

  • Ability to deploy novelapproaches based on external thinking

  • Ability to sustain high impact,trusted relationships

  • 20% travel required
