3rd Shift General Manager - Janitorial - (51553) Job Title 3rd Shift General Manager - Janitorial Career Level Manager Category Services - Branch Employment Status Salary Travel Required None Shift Type Second Shift (Afternoon) Job Description Job Description Responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of workers engaged in cleaning and maintaining the site premises by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate staff. Fulfills management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Essential Functions Assures quality by planning, assigning, and directing work assigned to staff; inspects completed work for conformance to standards; appraising, rewarding and disciplining staff; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Maintains cleaning supplies and equipment by making requisitions, submitting requests for repairs, issuing supplies and equipment to staff. Resolves workers' problems or consults with Human Resources if necessary. Assures adequate staffing by monitoring and addressing tardiness and attendance of staff. Reviews requests for leave and approves according to policy. Provides leadership to staff by fostering teamwork while balancing team and individual responsibilities; giving feedback to nurture a positive team spirit and quality performance, and modeling dependability, hard work, strong business ethics, and professional personal appearance. Assures appropriate conduct and decorum as dictated by policy Assures safety of employees by monitoring proper use of equipment and adherence to safety policies. *Job duties may be modified at any time. Minimum Requirements Qualifications: Familiarity with the safe operation and use of industrial cleaning products and equipment. Must possess strong communication skills including the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; to write routine reports and correspondence, and to present information to groups of employees. Ability to interact, train and resolve the personnel issues of maintenance staff with assorted disabilities. Must also project a positive and professional image to the public, co-workers and clients. Applicant must have extensive experience in detail cleaning to include: Deep cleaning of restrooms - experience and ability to operate the equipment and chemicals used to maintain these type surfaces and train the employees. Hard Floor Care - (granite, quartz, VCT), be familiar with and able to operate the equipment and chemicals used to maintain these type floors and train the employees. Carpet - be familiar with and able to operate equipment and chemicals used to maintain these surfaces and train the employees. Maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations; bench-marking state-of-the-art practices. Enhances housekeeping services department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Promotes housekeeping quality initiatives by conducting inspections; gaining feedback from meetings; enforcing quality and customer service standards; analyzing and resolving quality and customer service issues.
