Respiratory Therapist, 7:00pm-7:00am-170255St. Francis HospitalDescriptionJob Summary:Under general supervision, provide respiratory care and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Assess patients and recommend respiratory therapy treatments.Plan, prepare, and administer respiratory therapy treatments including IPPB, aerosol, chest physical therapy, incentive spirometry, sputum inductions, in accordance with established policies and procedures.Setup and monitor oxygen delivery systems.Perform diagnostic pulmonary and cardiac tests.Record patient treatment, response, and progress.Inspect, test, maintain, operate, and clean respiratory therapy equipment.Respond to "code blue" calls and assist by maintaining the patient's airway and performing CPR.Instruct Respiratory Technicians.Ensure the safe and effective administration of physician order to include the administration of prescribed medications, arterial punctures, etc.Communicate effectively with members of the team; ensure patient reporting is accurate and complete.Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base of current trends, methods, and concepts related to Respiratory Therapy.Comply with all hospital mandated safety protocols, programs, and directives.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsMinimum Education:Successful completion of post-secondary respiratory education program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).Minimum Experience:One (1) year of formal training/intern experience.Licensure/Certificaton(s):Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the State of Georgia.Licensed Respiratory Therapist in the State of Georgia.Certified through the American Red Cross to provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NPR) certified preferred.Certified to provide Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:Knowledge of respiratory therapy techniques and concepts.Knowledge of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the ability to execute.Strong customer service skills and the ability to provide signature service to all patients.Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively listen as well as communicate verbally and in writing.Critical thinking skills and the ability to apply logic to problem resolution.Ability to be empathetic to individual circumstances and demonstrate compassion.Ability to adapt to change.Ability to respond quickly when necessary.Job Respiratory/PulmonaryPrimary Location Georgia-ColumbusSchedule Full-timeShift RotatingLifePoint Health, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
