Currently within EY’s National Tax Department, we are seeking a senior manager - master black belt to work with key leadership in deploying, training, coaching and executing key initiatives. Our America’s Tax group is making an investment in project management and problem-solving capabilities of the firm’s employees. The master black belt will work to align the America’s Tax strategy to individual initiatives and projects.
EY’s National Tax Department serves high profile, national and multinational clients and is led by nationally recognized tax professionals who represent some of the firm’s most senior tax talent. We provide a range of domestic and international transactional tax-planning services and tax-related advisory services. National Tax includes top tax practitioners — many have held policymaking positions at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the Internal Revenue Service and on the staffs of congressional tax-writing committees. The combination of knowledge and experience forms the basis for National Tax’s ability to help clients analyze the effects of tax laws and regulations and to assist clients in determining and implementing appropriate tax planning.
Work closely with the executive director of the Tax Continuous Improvement and the Master Black Belt team in developing and deploying project management and Lean Six Sigma strategies
Be accountable for the Continuous Improvement Program in specific subservice lines or practice areas
Provide technical and process know-how to internal EY teams and client-facing professionals
Make certain of deployment benefits and results via focused project selection and project execution
Manage stakeholder relationships within the subservice line and Regions
Mentor leadership-level black belts and green belts in using project management and continuous improvement methodologies
Develop and conduct training and other activities (black belt, green belt, yellow belt, white belt levels of the organization)
Manage the financial benefits delivered from projects
Realize gains by leading Lean Six Sigma projects and supporting Lean Six Sigma project teams in achieving and sustaining improvements
To qualify, candidates must have:
Experience managing a Lean Six Sigma or consulting team and experience in functional areas (operations, financial and commercial)
Technical mastery of continuous and process improvement methodologies, such as DMAIC, Lean and DFSS, and process design, process management, project management and change management
Demonstrated success providing complex projects and significant experience in project management and execution
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels within an organization
Proficiency with Minitab software, Visio, and flowcharting and process mapping software
A demonstrated ability to effectively coach process owners, stakeholders, black belts and green belts, and outstanding facilitation skills
A four-year technical degree (Engineering, Math or Finance) and an MBA is preferred
A minimum of seven years of continuous improvement experience (financial or consumer goods industry a plus)
A black belt certification
A master black belt certification (or training)
