The Corporate Functions Solutions Delivery team supports the creation and enhancement of some of the industry’s most innovative and complex systems. This team develops and delivers software solutions to GM customers, dealers, and employees across the globe. Members of this team include industry-leading developers, architects, and designers who use various innovative development methodologies and technologies to successfully deliver solutions, drive business results, and increase customer satisfaction.

About the role:

The Applications Data Quality Engineer is responsible for inspecting and validating the data as it is extracted and prior to loading into target systems. They will also work with the Enterprise Data Warehouse to provide clean, timely quality data to EDW for enterprise needs. Responsibilities also include creating and updating system integration software and documentation specs in support of both new and existing applications (either Commercial Off-The-Shelf software – COTS, or custom developed software). This includes integration with Corporate Functions Operational Data Stores, COTS packages and internal applications. The Applications Data Quality Engineer will use strong Extract Transform Load (ETL) skills to validate integration points between major systems and their supporting data. The Applications Data Quality Engineer will also need to understand the business data and how it supports the key application processes.

The Applications Data Quality Engineer daily functions for this role may include creating data validation and compare scripts and updating existing code in Datastage.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology
- At least 5 years of Data validation and ETL work
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and debugging skills
- Scripting and database skills
- Strong business acumen
- Strong team player

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with Datastage
- Experience with extraction and loading from Oracle and SQLServer
- Experience working in a corporate environment
- Experience with programming database management scripts
- Experience creating technical specification
