Amec Foster Wheeler Project Scheduler in Albany, Georgia

Amec Foster Wheeler is currently seeking a Project Scheduler to join our team in Atlanta, GA. With minimal supervision, the individual at this level is responsible for independently applying advanced project controls, techniques and analyses. This position is related more specifically to advanced Primavera P6 scheduling abilities. Responsible to develop and maintain the master construction schedule with input from the client, engineering and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a resource loaded master construction schedule

  • Develop bid package schedules for RFPs

  • Develop and implement scheduling standards and procedures, including:

  • Construction schedule integration into the Client program schedule

  • Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

  • Scheduling requirements for contractors

  • Check and coordinate contractors’ detailed construction schedules

  • Develop and maintain cost loaded or resource loaded schedules using critical path methodology

  • Support project controls reporting requirements for weekly and monthly status reporting

  • Provide support for proposals and project change requests to include schedule development, estimate development, pricing proposals, and client negotiations

  • Administrative and document control support for project related documents

  • Provide regular updates for the construction section of the Client master program schedule and schedule reports


  • 7+ years of project controls/cost-schedule experience

  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 and MS Project

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office software suite of applications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; listens and understands clarification

  • Understand business implications of decisions

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Heavy civil or industrial construction experience required

  • Seven years or more equivalent experience

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Treats people with respect; works with integrity and ethically

  • Assesses own strengths and weaknesses

  • Takes responsibility for own actions; exhibits confidence in self and others

  • Prioritizes and plans work activities; organizes and schedules other people and their tasks

  • Follows through on commitments; meets productivity standards

  • Demonstrated proficiency in meeting detailed deliverables with a high level of accuracy

  • Adaptability and willingness to adjust to client needs

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours if required

  • Must be willing to travel as required to support our major and minor programs

  • Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Amec Foster Wheeler’s driving (MVR) policy

  • Proof of U.S. citizenship is required for this position


  • BS in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or other related field

  • Formal professional certification (PMI, AACE, etc.)

  • Experience in an engineering / consulting field

  • Construction/field experience a plus

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and sit

  • In addition, may require close vision work and travel
